Background of “Jozio”:
Jozio(幼鯈) is a character designed by korea artist Lee Jisu(李智秀).
The story is about an adult boy named Jozio goes back to his age of 10 after a strange accident.In order to return to his adulthood, he experienced various adventure.Jozio always wearing his mask and protected pad on his chest and knees, carrying a toy knife and gun-shaped cassette player.All these are his equipments to against black smoke and conceal his anxiety and rebellion.The "black smoke" is the symbol of the expectation and responsibility from society.
During designing the work,Jisu(智秀)read Novel ”Ferdydurke” which written by famous writer Witold Gombrowicz.Jisu(智秀) surprised that the character and the subject he approaching is much similar in the novel,so the work is named as the novel character “Jozio”.
